Great Feel and Flow
"Running these front and rear on my second set of wheels for my DH riding. I have been run Assegai+Aggressor for Trail, and Goodyear Newtons DHF-DHR Enduro for my DH riding. Assegai is pretty good, but I'd say twitchy and generally a lot of work to ride faster. Newtons have been better for DH, more predictable in front, in wet, and even as they wore down to sketchy level, but they are slow. NDH casing feels great, and it's the first time I'm NOT running tire inserts in years. (I'm not that hard a DH rider and I run 24-28psi) The DHX feels just like described; more consistent all around, smooth and consistent as you lean more in corners, and great speed. I would say it's more responsive than a Minion DHR, and more predictable than an Assegai. Why does the matter? Overall, this tire feels much easier to ride than my other combinations. It really feels easier to control in corners. I think it translates to more relaxed riding in position and more relaxed grip more of the time. Overall speed is definitely faster, but doesn't feel like I'm trying hard (new tires and DH casings always feel good though). Compared to Minion DHF, they track better in corners and are easier to hold a line. Compared to Assegai, they need progressively more bike lean to add direction changes, but don't suddenly "catch" more grip so overall movement is smoother. I'm giving them 4/5 until I see how long they stay sharp and how they feel as they wear down. (Mounted on Ibis Blackbird Send II 35mm wide rims)"
