EXO

EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for enhanced durability for gravel, XC, and light-duty trail riding.

Tubeless Ready

Tubeless ready tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Tubeless ready tires are denoted by the letters “TR” on the sidewall.

Tubeless ready tires must be mounted to tubeless compatible rims and require the use of a liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check your sealant regularly and refresh as needed as it will dry out over time.

Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tire will void the warranty.

FANTASTIC!

"I got these tires for my Specialized Diverge. I ride mostly roads but the roads where I live are mostly something called ‘chip seal. ’ Basically lots of tiny rocks with a layer of oil on top of them. The rocks pack down as cars drive over them. But I also have to ride the occasional gravel road or fresh chip seal road where the rocks aren’t oiled down yet. These tires fit the bill. They are stable but quick, without a lot of drag, even in windy conditions. Love them! I have nearly 1,900 miles on them and they’re ready to be replaced so I ordered the new hyper-X ones. Looking forward to trying them. I highly recommend the Reaver."

I set up these tires

"I set up these tires on a set of Boyd Cycling CCC alloy wheels. I've only had limited rides on short gravel sections and rough pavement. I believe this tire with the HYPR-X is a winner. So smooth and a level of control that's unusual for a low profile / tread tire. Super fast on smooth to semi-rocky gravel. Setup tubeless and running on a Trek Checkpoint SL6. 45MM width on an 25MM internal rim width."

Grips in Gravel

"Rode in pretty loose gravel and also in some aggressive chop. These tires are excellent for both. Plus still smooth enough for the pavement areas. Most gravel races I've done have a combo of all these surfaces, and this have been the best selection of tires I've found."

Ran Reaver 45's all last

"Ran Reaver 45's all last year in Western North Carolina on the gravel bike. Ordering a new set for next year. Love the performance and durability on our local gravel. Easy transition from 2. 4 Aspens on the XC bike. Rarely flat a Maxxis tire with the EXO casing so willing to spend a little more for the confidence and handling it provides."
