EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for enhanced durability for gravel, XC, and light-duty trail riding.

Tubeless Ready

Tubeless ready tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Tubeless ready tires are denoted by the letters “TR” on the sidewall.
Tubeless ready tires must be mounted to tubeless compatible rims and require the use of a liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check your sealant regularly and refresh as needed as it will dry out over time.
Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tire will void the warranty.

Q&A

How tall is this tire, not a good fit for the Santa Cruz blur. It rubs on the crossbar. What would you recommend with a lower profile to give more clearance from the frame?
The Crossmark is already one of our lowest profile tires. Santa Cruz specs the current Blur with a 29x2.40 Rekon Race. Could there be an issue with your frame?
I'm currently using a 32mm rim with inner measurement on 27mm. I'm planning on installing a 29x2.25 tire on it and I'm eyeing this model. Is my rim suitable for this tire?

OK to run these on a 35mm wheel? Trying to decide between a Rekon or Crossmark II for light trail duty in SoCal, fast rolling and lightweight yet still trail worthy, suggestions?
The Rekon in a 2.40" would be better for that rim width. A 35mm rim would give the Crossmark a very square profile which could negatively impact performance.
Ardent race and crossmark 2 seem similar? Which one rolls better? Specially on dry to dry rocky conditions, yet good enough traction on downhill? I currently have an Ardent and it’s bulky and weighs too much
Between the Crossmark II & Ardent Race the “faster” tire would be the Ardent Race. You might also check out the Ikon or Rekon Race for even speedier models with good traction. As far as EXO sidewall protection goes we do not produce these tires without it. It would be recommended for more durability.
is this and (Ikon) tire's suitable for hookless rims MAVIC XM 424 ?
Maxxis tires are compatible with any rim that follows ETRTO standards. If unsure of your rims please contact the rim manufacturer for that particular rims specifications.
